Job Description

Due to rapid expansion, our client is a global textile and apparel manufacturer with a vertically-integrated supply chain from cotton seed research to retailing to join their winning team.

We are now seeking for an SENIOR MANAGER ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH AND SAFETY



RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Raise awareness about the importance of EHS and drive a sustainable culture throughout the Company
  • Lead a team to develop and implement a strategic plan to eliminate/reduce EHS risk throughout all operations
  • Act as an EHS and Sustainability consultant to all factory and corporate management by providing guidance on EHS policy, objectives, standards and legal requirements
  • Develop, implement, evaluate and refine the short and long term EHS objectives and work plan, and effectively work with respective managers at each site
  • Organize, facilitate, and provide EHS training courses as appropriate
  • Ensure sites are reporting EHS metrics
  • Report on EHS performance internally and externally as requested
  • Review and improve the incident/accident reporting, investigation and tracking process
  • Ensure that there is an effective emergency response plan in place
  • Support the respective CSR representatives or appropriate management in each of the factories on customer highlighted issues/requirements related to Environment, Health and Safety
  • Liaise with external parties including government authorities, legislative bodies, industry groups and customers on EHS related matters


QUALIFICATIONS

  • University graduate with at least 7 years of work experience in Environmental, Health and Safety Management
  • Background of working in a labour-intensive industry, preferably textile or garment manufacturing
  • Experience in multi-cultural environment; able to effectively link management and line worker cultures
  • Understanding of China environment, health and safety regulations and international standards
  • Excellent communication, presentation and influencing skills
  • Fluent in both written and spoken English. Proficient in Mandarin and Cantonese is a plus
  • Based in Hong Kong with frequent travel to factories in China and occasional travel to overseas factories
